Maranacook Student Health Center

The school-based Maranacook Student Health Center serves all students in grades 6-12. Services are designed to meet the needs of the students during school hours. The mission of the Health Center is to provide support for the optimal physical and mental health of MCS students by providing access to a comprehensive array of treatment services, health information and referral services. Our aim is to keep students healthy; reduce time lost from school; teach healthy lifestyle practices, and detect and treat problems and illnesses before they become serious. Students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own health care. The Maranacook Community School District/CSD #10 and MaineGeneral Health Associates jointly support the Student Health Center.

Open 7:30 am - 3:00 pm every day school is in session.

The Health Center Student Advisory Committee visited the State House on March 25, 2008.  The students met with Maranacook Area Representatives and Senators to thank them for their support of LD 862 - An Act to Increase Support of School-based Health Centers during the last legislative session.  The students shared how the increase in funding has been used at the Maranacook Student Health Center and why the health center is important to young people.  The students were able to meet with Representatives Patrick Flood and Pat Jones (pictured) and with Senator Walter Gooley.
