Senior Highlight Slade Meranda

Both Mrs. O’Donoghue and Mrs.Watson would like to recognize Slade Meranda.  Slade is a thoughtful, charismatic, and caring young man. He greets everyone individually within our advisee group with a smile and  ”Good Morning _______” .  His friendly, daily greeting  and contagious laugh was missed by all within our group whenever he was absent and will be even more so after he graduates next month.   Slade has participated in two of our musicals where he has added a unique personality and dry humor that brings a laugh to those around him.  He has the special ability to deliver one-liners at the most appropriate times to ease stress and brighten someone's otherwise difficult day.  Slade cares deeply for those who know him best and expresses that concern through doing little things that makes the person know he cares. Slade can be competitive when playing games & cards and will playfully tease others when he is able to "get them", although in all fairness, he takes teasing just as well. He loves the give and take of verbal banter and enjoys sitting down and having a conversation.  He also loves to read jokes to people and have them see if they can guess what the punchlines are. One of his teachers, Mrs. Watson, was a source of laughter for him, since she couldn't get many of the punchlines, although he tried over and over for her to get them.  There were even times when he would say, "you have to know this", and of course start laughing when she couldn't get it.  He would highly congratulate her when, on a very few occasions, she guessed correctly.  Thank you, Slade, for bringing joy to our classrooms. You will be missed.
