World War II in the Pacific with National History Day

Would you like to travel to Hawaii in June with Mr. Gower? Would you like to research and learn about Maine soldiers killed in World War Two? Would you like a travel and educational experience to put on your College application? 

If you answered yes, this application is for you. One student will be selected to apply with Mr. Gower for this opportunity. Students must be a junior in high school as of fall 2019. Our selection by NHD is NOT guaranteed. It is a very competitive process with teams of students and teachers from around the country.

Round One: Students submit applications by 11/18 and one is selected by 11/25.

Round Two: The Student selected in round one and Mr. Gower apply to National

History Day to be a part of this program. We will find out in January if we are selected. There is chance we won’t be accepted into the program.

 

Requirements: Student must be able to travel June 24-July 1, 2020. Family must finance travel to and from an airport as close as possible (might be Boston). Student must participate in online webinars, and a research project on a local soldier during the school year with support from Mr. Gower. You must submit the application no later than 11/18 to Mr. Gower, no exceptions. You can get a paper copy of the application form Mr. Gower or send an email and he will send you an electronic copy.
